A Note from MyWhatIf: Correction and Clarification

Dear supporter,

At MyWhatIf, integrity and transparency are central to our mission. Today, we want to acknowledge and correct an important mistake.

In a recent newsletter, we referenced a study supporting MDMA-assisted therapy for PTSD, suggesting it had been approved by the FDA and fully validated. However, this information was incorrect.

In August 2024, the FDA declined to approve MDMA-assisted therapy for PTSD due to concerns over trial ethics, data quality, and unresolved safety questions.

Additionally, three key studies on this therapy were retracted, and a serious misconduct case came to light involving unethical behavior during clinical trials.

We deeply regret this oversight. Our intent was to highlight promising innovations in trauma recovery, but in doing so, we failed to reflect the current status of research accurately.

We are committed to learning from this and improving the accuracy of all future communications.

Moving forward, our team will implement a more rigorous research verification process to ensure we share only well-sourced, up-to-date information.

Thank you for holding us to the high standards we strive for. We remain dedicated to developing responsible, AI-driven mental health tools—and we are grateful for your continued trust and support.

With humility and commitment,

MyWhatIf Team
